Welcome to the website of the Georgia Santa Gertrudis Association. Santa Gertrudis is "America's First Beef Breed". Developed at the famous King Ranch in Texas, beginning in 1918, the breed (a blend of Brahman and Shorthorn) was recognized as a new breed by the USDA in 1940. Santa Gertrudis are famous for rapid and efficient growth, solid red color, hardiness, and good disposition. They are adaptable to many environments, and are present throughout the US and in many other countries, especially Australia, South Africa, Central and South America.

Donation Heifer    2008 Mt. Laurel Classic

Please have a look at this years heifer that will be auctioned off at this years Mt Laurel Classic! All of the proceeds from this lot will be donated to the Georgia Jr. Santa Gertrudis Association. This heifer will sell heavy bred as she combines the breeding of Yuma ( Son Of The Chief ) and a very powerful Grey Oaks female that goes back to Wendt Geronimo! Breeding status will be updated later. This will be a very strong lot and one that everyone should consider!
